Suzhou is often called the “City of Gardens” as it is home to the most concentrated and best-preserved collection of classical Chinese gardens in the country. Nine of them are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Suzhou gardens are renowned for “creating vast landscapes within limited space”, through techniques such as borrowed scenery, framed views and visual layering.
