Qianshan Mountain, Anshan, Liaoning

Updated: 2026-06-28 | China Bound

Known in ancient times as “Mountain of Accumulated Verdure”, Qianshan Mountain in Liaoning’s Anshan is said to be formed by 999 peaks, stretching across the horizon like lotus flowers in bloom, earning it the poetic name “Mountain of a Thousand Lotuses”. Revered as a sacred mountain in Northeast China, it is dotted with ancient Buddhist temples, Taoist shrines, and stone inscriptions. The sound of bells and drums echoes through its verdant valleys, while wisps of incense drift among the peaks, lending a serene, contemplative atmosphere to this majestic northern mountain.
