798 Art Zone is China's best-known contemporary art district, where a former electronics factory complex has been transformed into a thriving center for art, design, and creativity. Today, its industrial buildings house an ever-changing mix of museums, commercial galleries, independent art spaces, artists' studios, bookstores, cafes, design shops, and creative businesses.

Rather than following a fixed route, visitors are encouraged to wander the district's interconnected streets, discovering exhibitions, public art, and restored factory architecture along the way. With exhibitions changing regularly and new creative spaces constantly emerging, no two visits to 798 are ever quite the same.

How to get there:
By metro: Line 14 to Wangjing South Subway Station (Exit B1), or to Jiangtai Station (Exit A). From either exit, it's a 1.5-kilometer walk or bike ride to reach 798 Art Zone. Line 12 to Gaojiayuan Station (Exit B).
By bus: There are several bus routes that go near the area. You can get off at Dashanzi Lukou South Station/Wangyefen Station (Buses 401, 405, 991, 445, and 988) , or at Dashanzi Lukou East Station/Wangyefen Station (Buses 418, 593, 851, 854, and 403).

Tips:
Most galleries and museums are open from around 10 am to 6 pm (or 11 am to 7 pm), with some closed on Mondays. As opening hours vary, it's worth checking individual venues before your visit. In addition to daytime exhibitions, 798 occasionally hosts evening openings, performances, live music, and special cultural events.
